The 2024 Ford Edge Buyer’s Guide

There are tons of impressive things to be found across the trim lineup of the 2024 Ford Edge, too. Every trim will get intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD), meaning your vehicle will scan the road and adjust traction when necessary. Intelligent AWD makes this SUV ready to handle city streets, highways, and off-road environments well, which is part of what makes it such a versatile model. Most trims will have the 2.0L EcoBoost Turbo I-4, which gets excellent fuel economy. The SE

The SE is the base-level trim. The interior is simple but timeless. It gets cloth seats, a four-way manual driver’s seat, and a two-way manual passenger’s seat. It will have the 2.0L EcoBoost Turbo engine, intelligent AWD, and the Edge’s ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs, making it a road trip-ready model. It gets a push-button start, a 12-inch touchscreen, two programmable driver cluster screens, smartphone compatibility, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Plus, there are 12-volt powerpoints and USB A and C ports for your device needs.

Every trim, including the SE, gets the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver assist features. The basic suite found on the SE is very generous. It has a blind spot monitoring system, lane keep assist, pre-collision braking, a rearview camera, automatic headlamps, and available rear parking sensors. Plus, it has traction control, hill start assist, and an SOS post-crash alert system.

The SEL

If you like everything the SE has to offer but would like a few more creature comforts, the SEL is worth a look. You get a jump up to an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat and four-way power adjustable passenger’s, plus standard heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available heating on the steering wheel. Instead of cloth seats, you get Active-X seating material, a synthetic leather-like material that’s easy to clean.

It builds on the SE in the driver assist features, too, with available adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering. This feature lets you set your desired speed and distance from other vehicles, and can come to a complete stop on its own in adaptive cruise control mode when needed—and start back up when traffic picks up. Also available on this trim is evasive steering to further help avoid collisions.

What makes this trim particularly great for those who love to explore new destinations is the connected built-in navigation. Your new Ford Edge SEL will include three years of service for this navigation, which boasts pinch-to-zoom capability, live traffic, route guidance, and predictive destinations.

On the infotainment and tech front, a wireless charging pad becomes available on this trim, as does a garage door opener. A remote start system is standard on this trim, letting you turn on the engine before entering the vehicle. You’ll get the same charging ports and outlets of the SE, with an available 110V/150W AC power outlet here. You’ll additionally enjoy an EasyFold second row on this trim, which goes down via a simple lever.

The ST-Line

The main differences between the ST-Line and the previous trims are stylistic. The ST-Line gets blacked-out details like a black beltline molding, 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, and a black mesh grille. It also gets a unique ST-Line Badge fender and satin aluminum fog lamp bezels. On the inside, you’ll find ActiveX Seating with red accent stitching. If you are looking for something with a cosmopolitan flair, the ST Line is it.

The ST-Line isn’t all about mysterious, tall, dark, and handsome looks, though. It also has some convenience features standard, that were only available on the SEL. These include wireless charging, remote start, and a power liftgate. The 110V/150W AC power outlet is standard on this trim, too.

The Edge Titanium

The Edge Titanium combines a performance trim and a luxury one. It builds on the ST-Line with several features that boost the experiences for the driver and passengers. On top of all of the standard Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assist features, the Edge Titanium gets several available advanced features, including a front-facing 180-degree camera with a split view and a parking system that helps with perpendicular parking.

Standard on this trim are reclining front bucket seats, heated front seats, and a ten-way power driver’s seat for the ultimate in front-row comfort. You’ll also get driver’s seat memory, so you don’t need to reset your seat every time you start the vehicle. Drivers have the option to add available cooling to front seats and heating to second-row seats in this trim.

If you’re after a great sound system, we recommend this trim. It jumps from the six-speaker audio system of the others to a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker system with a subwoofer for a surround-sound listening experience. Lastly, moving to the rear of the trim, you get a hands-free foot-activated liftgate.

The ST

The dominant feature of the ST trim is the engine. While all other trims get 2.0L EcoBoost, this trim is where you get the 2.7L EcoBoost V6. With it, you’ll enjoy excellent acceleration, an impressive zero to 60 time, higher horsepower, and greater torque. Beyond that, it mostly builds on the Edge Titanium, combining the ultimate in comfort and convenience with a noteworthy engine.
