Lighter and Faster Ways to Pack for Vacation
Need a quicker way to pack for your next road trip? Here at Newton Ford, we’ve compiled these tips to help you minimize packing and unpacking and reduce the amount of stuff you have to bring along.
Plan Outfits
Try simplifying packing by bringing along individual outfits. Think about how many days you’ll spend at your destination and keep an outfit for each day, plus maybe an extra outfit or two just case.
Be Picky About Footwear
Remember what we said above about planning outfits? Make sure you bring only the shoes you need.
Lay Everything Out
Having all your belongings in front of you helps you remember what you may have forgotten as well as lets you see how much stuff you’re bringing along. Having a visual element can help you cut down to the necessities.
Keep a Travel Kit
Have travel-sized toiletries, such as toothbrushes and shampoo bottles, packed separately in a carry-on bag so you don’t have to worry about packing more the morning of your trip.
Keep Plastic Bags for Swimwear
Worried about transporting wet swimwear back home? Have a plastic bag in your luggage to separate the wet clothes from the dry.

Mother, father and their two children pack the family car to go on vacation.
Roll, Don’t Fold
Above all else, remember to roll your clothing into compact rolls rather than folding them as usual. It helps make more space in your bags.
