Happy to have the 2019 Ford Ranger Back
With the mid-size truck offerings from Chevrolet and Toyota, Ford brought back a classic model to make a reentry into that segment of shoppers who enjoy a truck, but maybe do not need the full capabilities of a Ford F-150. Brian Moody, executive editor at Autotrader, said that the new Ranger is “a competent and agile little brother to the well-established Ford F-150.”
Hitting the “sweet spot” between wanting a truck and needing an F-150
According to Autotrader, the Ranger isn’t meant to be the most capable; instead, it hits the perfect “sweet spot” for people who want a truck but don’t necessarily need all the power of the F-150. With a torque rating of 310lb-ft., beating out all other gas-powered pickups, the new Ranger still remains the most fuel-efficient in its class at 26 combined MPG.
Ford is also rolling out the brand-new Ford Co-Pilot 360, a host of available safety features and driver-assist technologies, such as:
- Lane-Keep System
- Blind Spot Information System
- Cross-Traffic Alert (covering both truck & trailer)
- Pre-Collision Assist with Auto Emergency Braking
- Auto-Beam Headlamps
- Rear View Camera
These features all come standard on the Ranger XLT and Lariat models. The package is optional on Ranger XL.
